Ever since I read The Right Stuff in 2001 I've been absolutely blown away that when Chuck Yeager tried to break the sound barrier, be did it by being inside a plane that DROPPED OUT OF ANOTHER PLANE WHILE FLYING IN THE GODDAM SKY!!!, during which he started his own engine and took off. I've always found this to be absolutely bananas, and have blathered away about it to anyone who would listen. And today, for the very first time, I can see actual footage of it via Twitter. Thank you Internet!
