John Lennon on why The Beatles made it, never crushing under the absurdity of their celebrity or possibilities of egos:
"We
reckoned we could make it because there were four of us. None of us
would've made it alone, because Paul wasn't quite strong enough, I
didn't have enough girl-appeal, George was too quiet, and Ringo was the
drummer. Sometimes you get dizzy. But we usually hung together somehow. There’d
always be somebody to lean on when there’s four of you. There’d always
be somebody that would be together enough to pull you through the
difficult phases."
