I've gone down a rabbit-hole with YouTube channels of interactive graphics showing the evolution of data over decades/centuries. This one is all about sports, and then there's the ones like the most populous cities every year since 1500. The real-time tracking of the things is pretty phenomenal.
And it's also how we see that the same 15 guys who led the major Leagues in career triples in 1934 are the exact same guys who are in the top 15 today, which blatantly shows a huge way in how the game has changed.
