The only calendar year in which my beloved Yankees won the World Series and there were new episodes of Only fools and Horses was 1996. Now, that was a helluva combo: the year that launched the Yankee dynasty, and the OFAH Christmas trilogy that was one for the ages (and was intended to be the finale of the series.) Further episodes aired in 2001 and 2003, but of course the Yankees lost both of those Series.
