The Holy Grail of 80's College Rock: a recording of Paul Westerberg joining R.E.M. onstage ("onstage"...as opposed to joining them at an Arby's I suppose?) in Minneapolis in 1984 to sing Color Me Impressed. It's a great moment, and any true Replacements fan will be amused to note that when playing the song with his own band there's no way he bothers to get the words close to right, yet when playing it with R.E.M. he magically seems to know the words by heart. 🤣
