The folks over at The Ringer have what I guess they're thinking is the definitive list of the best 50 rom-coms and I guess the bug question is: with the exception of the fantastic Harold and Maude, did the rom-com simply not exist before the mid/late 1980s?
I will now pick my favorite three movies from the list:
Bull Durham (NOT a "rom-com" but I love this movie so fuck it)
Boomerang
Jack Black's scenes in High Fidelity
The Princess Bride
Four Weddings and a Funeral
(On a side note: Barry below is 100% correct, the Righteous Brothers' version of Little Latin Lupe Lu ROCKS!!)
