The latest salvo in my War Against the Bullshit of the American Dream, a war I am in no way qualified to fight in and really have no idea how I keep getting pulled into but okay, comes from a book I just read that isn't good but this passage jumped out:
It's always the same shit with money: non-rich people think that if rich people "like" them then they'll be one of them. This starts with voting - "oh if I vote for a rich guy then he'll really like me and before you know it it'll be ME on that third yacht!" We fall for it every time. Pathetic and sad. (Insert more Jackie Childs quotes here?)
