Why was Jim on the committee to find a manager to replace Michael? I.E., to choose his own boss? Obviously Jim watched Michael be the manager for 12 years, so he knows you can just screw around all day and it’s no problem. Meanwhile, Jim spent the exact same time doing the exact same, dicking around all day flirting with Pam and devising elaborate pranks on Dwight. But suddenly we’re supposed to think Jim wants to knuckle down and have some boss overlord over him? What? Why wouldn’t he just simply say “I’ll be the manager”, therein freeing himself to keep dicking around with Dwight et al?
This aligns with my previous beef about the characters wanting...a tougher boss?
