About the afternoon The Beatles debuted on The Ed Sullivan Show, via The Beatles Bible:
That afternoon The Beatles recorded ‘Twist And Shout’, ‘Please Please Me’, and ‘I Want To Hold Your Hand’, in front of a different audience from the one that saw their live debut that evening. This set was broadcast on 23 February as the group’s third Ed Sullivan appearance, after they had left the US.
So earlier in the afternoon there was a crowd that got to watch The Beatles play for a future episode of The Ed Sullivan Show, but then they all had to leave...who were these people? How many are still around? Are they bitter they didn't get to stay a coupla hours longer to be part of such a historical, iconic moment? Can we get these people together in front of a camera please?!?!?!?!
"Paul I'm telling you, it was like she had bowling balls in her sweater!"
