I love Ohtani like anybody else; even when watching him go deep twice against the Yankees he's tough to hate on. He's infectious to watch, he has a light joy to himself that just makes him impossible to root against.
BUT.
As remarkable as his whole pitching AND batting thing is, do we REEEEEEEEEEEALLY think there aren't hundreds of baseball players who could've done the same thing had it occurred to anybody throughout the past decades? They're incredible athletes, do we REEEEEEEEEEEALLY think there's not tons of great hitters who could be AT THE VERY LEAST a #4 starter, and then maybe even better than that? 🤔🤷♂️
