This footage randomly popped up over at MentalFloss; on one hand it's trippy because you wonder about things going on around the world at that moment that we know about now, but most people had no idea of in real time. For instance, the first thing I think of whenever the year 1977 pops up is that's the year The Ramones' two greatest albums, Leave Home and Rocket to Russia, both came out, but the odds of anybody in this footage having any idea at time is pretty slim. I'm sure anybody else can have their own thoughts about what 1977 means to them. And of course I can't help but wonder which of these kids is dead now, and for how long?
Most of all, what this reveals to me is that high school in 1977 seems to have stayed the exact same through at least 1990.
