I don't know why I fell into this stupid Buzzfeed list 22 People Share The Moment They Realized They Were The "Poor" Friend Or The "Rich" Friend, but this fucking stopped me in my tracks:

7. "I never got invited to a birthday party because all the kids knew I wouldn't be able to give them an expensive, cool gift."

What the fuck kind of friends did this kid have? What kind of shithead adults were running the show around them? Can you imagine as a parent telling your kid NOT to invite someone to your birthday party for this reason? Did this person know this as a kid, or figure it out later?
