I've written a kazillion times about the mid-80's James Madison University bands I was lucky enough to know as a young man who loved to rock named DT & the Shakes, The Rational Herdsmen and The Undecided, all three of whom released records in 1985 I still LOVE LOVE LOVE today. Here's a Spring '85 writeup from their college paper on the incredible band scene at the time...sorry I've never really gotten into Animal Logic, The Detectives, M-1, The Rhythm Rats (great name!), The Shuffle, The Sparkplugs, Third Wave, The Untouchables, X-Changes or Why Not but hey the ears want what the ears want.
Listen to DT's incredible debut ep Smooth Studio Crafted Teen Fodder HERE!! (NOTE: just so you understand the integrity of the ep, tracks 1-6 are from the original release, 7-8 are the A/B of their 1985 single and the rest are odds & sods).
Listen to The Undecided's incredible debut lp Learning to Watch Television HERE!!
UNfortunately, The Herdsmen still haven't put their stuff up online 😠but if you book a 15-minute window you may come over and I'll play it for you.
VIVA LA DT, HERDSMEN & UNDECIDED!!!!!!
