The Battlecats

One of the more magical times of my life band-wise was 2000-2004, and one of the coolest parts was my band playing a few times with New Haven legends and fellow Reel to Reel artists The Battlecats. They were young, bursting with energy & optimism and their front man just had something about him that reminded you of John Lennon in Hamburg. And yeah, one of the girls was ridiculously hot in that 1980s teen movie kind of way. Nothing ever really happened with them, I guess they drifted apart like most bands. A year or two ago their guitar player died, and of course he was a super nice guy.

The Battlecats remind me of a fun, loose time when we were just busting at the seams with creative energy all the damn time, and it always was on the verge of snowing in the greatest city in the world.
