We Love You John Lennon

As weird as it always is to remember that tens of millions of Americans heard about John Lennon's murder from Howard Cosell, don't forget that a few years earlier Lennon had visited him in the booth and seemed to really get a kick out of both Howard and the game of football itself. What a juxtaposition of moments.

Cosell’s partner that night, Frank Gifford: We've had a lot of memorable moments on Monday night. I'll never forget that one I ran into John Lennon with a publicity agent I knew that afternoon and I invited him but never dreamed he would show up, and we already had Ronald Reagan scheduled. Howard was going to interview him but when he found out one of the Beatles would be there he said “l'll take the Beatle.” 🤣🤗🥲
