Letter to the editor from my hometown's local paper, a town not exactly known as being a bastion of progress and equality:
If you are a Millennial or a GenZ, think about your vote.
This election, vote for yourself. Vote for the candidate or party that is going to support you, your family, your business, and your plans for your life. Look beyond the noise; look at what the candidate or party is doing for you.
Think of the thousands of jobs and opportunities created by the Chips Act and the resurgence of American manufacturing stimulated by the Infrastructure Act. Think of the economic boom driven by the lowest unemployment rate and the greatest wage growth in decades. Consider the thousands of forgiven student loans that have freed up the budgets of your generation to start a business, have a family, or buy a new home. Remember that with the Affordable Care Act, you can take your health care wherever your career takes you–even into business for yourself. Consider which party or candidate supports your religious choice and denounces hatred based on race, ethnicity, gender, or religion. Ask yourself which party or candidate is going to let you marry whom you want and let you decide if and when you want to have a child.
It’s your future.
Consider wisely. Vote for yourself. Vote Democratic.
I won't list the names of the two women wrote who wrote this because I don't recognize their names, but 🙌🙌 indeed.
