My Incredible, Almost-Hard-to-Believe Connection to The Kinks & England Thanks to SUNNY AFTERNOON
I mean it must mean something that the most British of British songs, the one sitting on top of the charts the day the unthinkable happened and England won the Word Cup and therein cementing it forever as the sound of that summer and England glory forever -the very summer that was the most British of all British summers- was written by the most British of British writers and just now on St. Patrick's Day I realize it hit #1 in my homeland of Ireland on the very date that would become the exact day of my own birth 6 years later, right?
