Of course everybody was rightly horrified about the idea of them spending 5 years in prison but it's funny watching now how the whole $85,000 fine thing
($161k in today's $crillah) just sails by without any concern art all when George lives with his parents and Kramer lives inside the pipes of his building. 🤔🤷♂️
George: All right, so what's the penalty here? Let's just pay the fine or something and get the hell out of here.
Deputy: Well, it's not that easy. Now see, the law calls for a maximum fine of $85,000 and as much as five years in prison.
