These are a couple ladies who really know how to chew up some goddam scenery; the fiery redhead is all onscreen front & center, but the other one knows her place is best half-on/half-offscreen (exactly zero of this is accidental, of course). The pointed finger that kicks off the whole “we’re looking over there now” move is perfectly framed, and by the 11-second mark they’re not even pretending to NOT be pointing at & talking about Rodney & Boyce. Because that’s exactly what you’d expect background actors NOT to do, and you’d be correct dear reader!
The coup de’ gracé? The final second, as Rodney makes his move onto the rest off the scene and the redhead, after commanding the scene from behind so brilliantly & so effortlessly for so long, knows her job is now to bow her head in respect the the rest of the scene now being in someone else’s hands.
