I can't tell you how many hours I spent as a kid dreaming about what it must've been like; of course like an idiot I pictured them sitting around a table at CBs with all the other bands that would make it such an iconic landmark just patting themselves on the back, talking about how great they all were That's silly, but it's not silly to acknowledge how different my love of music, if I'd even really have one, would've been if this event 50 years ago hadn't occurred. I certainly would never have thought to learn how to play guitar, or find other people who love the music so much we'd start bands of out own, same as thousands & thousands of other people who love The Ramones.
There's all this great stuff going on this weekend to celebrate the anniversary; I wish I could be there - I only found out about any of this stuff like 5 minutes ago - but hopefully some of y'all can.
