Random Pretend Validation

Sometimes you go years & years & years thinking you were the only one who saw/heard something no matter how widely broadcasted; no matter how many times you've seen it or tried to talk about it, it always seems like somehow nobody else noticed or cared whichever thing you're talking about.

Which is how I've felt not only about the incredible Black Magic ESPN documentary overall, but also & to an even greater degree the incredible segment featuring former Chicago Bulls star Bob Love. For years I thought I was the only who'd ever seen the story, until dipping back in Bill Simmons' archives and the doc not only came up with him & Ryen Russillo, but Russillo went out of his way to spend a minute on the Bob Love bit. I'm not saying I felt like I'd been gaslit all those years - obviously I understand that anything put out on the air by ESPN will be seen by plenty of people who happen to not be myself - but it still felt good to stumble upon even such a nothing case of validation.
