There was a time this was a funny joke but that time was many, many, many years ago; just once I'd like to see someone in a version of this kind of scene say "well, maybe my friend Mr. Lincoln can change your mind..." and then his friend standing next to him immediately pulls out a checkbook and hands the bartender a check for $1,000.
