I'll Say This

I give The Beatles a lot of shit about playing Til There Was You during their first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show (we're patching things up, don't sweat your little bobbie socks), screaming at the heavens "why would they play some old ladies song from a billion years ago instead of another brand new one of their own???!"

But I must admit that it's a testament to the gazillion hours they spent playing together before this moment of overnight success that just mere seconds after finishing their first song & feeling what must have been one of the greatest rushes of energy in human history they were able to not only pivot to such a song but knock it out in such an incredibly controlled but loose, professional way before immediately lighting the match again for She Loves You.
