Xmastime So Sayeth, So Sayeth Xmastime

I rode the NYC Subway for 15 years & am now on Year 2 of riding the DC Metro & one thing that’s stayed the same is that when you’re inside the car as the doors are closing juuuuuuuuuust as some poor schmuck is throwing themself against them trying to get in, there’s never a exchange of empathetic looks between you & the person being shut out of the ride; they always immediately turn their head suddenly to one side, open their mouths as if they’re talking to someone, and then scurry off in that direction as if just realizing “oh yeah that’s right I’m supposed to be over THERE and not here, desperately trying to hurl myself inside the car before the doors close like I’m Indiana fucking Jones".
