In November 1984, SARM Recording Engineer Stuart Bruce, together with producers Midge Ure and Bob Geldof recorded a staggering list of A-list musicians and pop megastars. The line-up is mind-boggling and what's more, they had just one day to record, mix and cut this truly epic charity single. In this video I am joined by none other than Stuart Bruce who recounts his memories of this amazingly magical day at London's SARM studios.

How is it not more of a well-known fact that every singer was recorded with the same mic? "We just kept changing the height from singer to singer". I mean dafuck - where the hell is this microphone?!?!?!?!
