Bacon Egg & Cheese I Miss Youuuuuuuuuuu!! ❤️

...while every slice of pizza in New York City may not be THE WORLD'S GREATEST!!, the truth is that while there you're rarely a block away from a slice that's really, really good. And I'd say the same thing for the breakfast sandwich - and by "breakfast sandwich", I mean the classic bacon, egg & cheese on a roll. Hell, these may be even more ubiquitous than pizza. No matter how raggedy-ass, filth-ridden any bodega you wander by may look like, whatever bacon, egg & cheese they serve up to you I PROMISE will be fucking scrumptious. - XMASTIME

Apparently this beloved sammich is under attack - okay, not really - in NYC thanks FUCKING GODDAM BIRDS???😡😡😡😡:
A bird flu outbreak that started in 2022 is driving the rise in egg prices, the Associated Press reports. Whenever the virus is detected on a farm, the entire flock is slaughtered to prevent it from spreading, which leads to supply shortages.

But because part of the BEC's appeal is its relatively modest price, changing it is a delicate balancing act between what it costs to make the sandwich and what customers are willing to pay.

Aden Deli, located off the Myrtle Avenue M and J stop in Bushwick, Brooklyn, sells its bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches for $5. Manager Ahmed Shaibi said the deli would risk losing customers if it raised the price higher than that, and that he would only consider doing so if other delis in the area did the same.
“I don't think anybody would pay like $6 for a bacon egg and cheese — it depends where you are. I mean, if you go to the city, I'm sure they would sell it for more, but around here they wouldn't pay more than $5,” he said. “I mean if we do, we will lose customers.”
$6 sounds incredibly cheap, I'd pay money to know what I was paying for my bacon egg & cheese back in the day. I'm sure I passed out the minute it hit $3.75.

Here's the bodega on Grand & Berry (right across the street from Kam Sing - magic corner!) I must've popped into over 2,500 times from 1998-2012, of which my bacon egg & cheese hit rate was at least 50%.

Aaaaaaaaaaand here's my gang that robbed it one night,
