Second Verse Magic

PREVIOUS XMASTIME THOUGHTS:
There's a beauty in the earnest urgency of whenever a song immediately goes right back into the second verse after the first chorus without any sort of further musical resolution, as if you can hear the band tripping over themselves with glee to start it all over again.

I don't think a lot of people understand how dramatically jumping right back into the verse after the first chorus can help a song go from a 7 to a 9.
I've already used the examples Dead End Street (The Kinks), Fortunate Son (CCR) and Mississippi (Hayday), and I'd totally forgotten that this last Clash classic is another GREAT example.
