Murmering

Lots of excitement about all four members of Xmastime superslice band of all times REM popping up at the 40 Watt Club (duh) to rock Pretty Persuasion with Michael Shannon's REM cover band that's been touring for Fables of the Reconstruction's 40th anniversary. Bill Berry's appearance in particular has fans buzzing about a possible reunion which on one hand makes me nervous because they're the one band who never had a single misstep throughout their entire career, but on the other hand bands breaking up or retiring doesn't really mean anything anymore so of course I’d love every second of whatever they wanted to do if they chose to get back together. As lifelong fans, we're lucky they'd even consider such a thing.

"But Xmastime", you say in the voice of Craig “Ironhead” Heyward from those soap commercials (RIP), "didn't your band have a rehearsal space in a loft where Michael Shannon lived and one time didn't he tell Rrthur (YES ladies, THAT Rrthur) that he really liked your songs, and Halo on Her Head in particular?"

Sigh. Yes it did, faithful readers, YES it did.
