As the single-most influential American rock band of the 1980s, almost solely responsible for the template that became alternative/Amerindie/college rock etc, R.E.M. deserves its own Ken Burns/Last Dance-worthy documentary.
And FYI potential documentary filmmakers, shit like this is what I want to see!!!! Not dumb shit about personal gossip et al, but real stuff like Mike Mills talking about their process...YOU'VE BEEN WARNED, POTENTIAL DOCUMENTARY FILMMAKERS!!
