My Metro stop is one of the first ones on the Silver line so when I get on in the mornings I never have a problem getting a seat w/o anyone next to me, I'd say the car’s usually ¼ full at that point. This morning there was a mid-20s looking guy sitting across from me and a young woman got on & walked directly to the seat right next to the guy & plopped down right next to him. Meanwhile, they’re SURROUNDED by empty seats, so I assumed they must know each other; they looked to be the same age & exactly nobody would be surprised to find out they were dating. I noticed they never looked at or talked to each other, or even acknowledged each other's existence at all, which further cemented the idea to me that they were dating, and probably for a long time now.
Then, SUDDENLY!! the train pulls up into a station to a complete stop, the woman gets up, doesn’t say a word or even look at the guy, and walks off the train….
…so…she DIDN’T know the guy, yet sat down next to him for 30 minutes when there were a ton of wide-open seating areas to enjoy? Dafuck? What kind of sociopath does that? 🤔🤷♂️
So that’s gonna be the rest of my day, everybody.
