The Library.

Obviously I’m biased about libraries, my mother was a librarian & a lot of my childhood memories take place in them, but the truth is that every time I step inside one – which isn’t NEARLy often enough – I’m reminded of what a miracle they are.

It’s also a bummer that the reason I’m bringing them up in the first place is that just like with NPR & PBS, now libraries need to be saved against an administration determined to Make America Dumb Again, to say nothing that of course getting rid of libraries & public media is all part of the fascist’s playbook.

But for now, watch this short doc on libraries and celebrate the fact that what they’re really all about is the best of what we tell ourselves we love about America: community, empathy & learning.
