People have spent the last decade scratching their heads “how can Christians support Trump?" but it’s been very clear to me from the beginning: Trump repeatedly promises his MAGA people that (insert whatever it is at the moment that he says is gonna make his MAGA people’s lives instantly better) is just "two weeks away", and of course when those two weeks come & go with nothing happening his MAGA people just pretend they don't remember that promise & then eagerly gobble up the next one that’s gonna make their lives better "in two weeks", rinse/lather/repeat, all of which works perfectly on people who spend their lives being told that the promise of eternal salvation is always juuuuuuuuuuuust over the horizon even if, just like one of Trump’s promises, it never actually delivers.
