Elevator Life

Unless I'm popping down the hallway to my trash room, LITERALLY anytime I leave my apartment I have to take an elevator. - XMASTIME 

Being an elevator guy now means I’ve developed a healthy respect for other elevator guys who understand the elevator is the perfect time to get credit for small talk without any effort since both of us understand that by the time we’ve done our performative “omg what’s suddenly so important on my phone right now?” one of us has reached our floor & can now do the always-appreciated “have a good one” nod, therein completing our social contract with both parties feeling well-pleased with both the level of effort given and amount of credit taken.
