Was Jerry Krause the Lorne Michaels of the NBA?

According to this surprisingly-kinda-crappily-written Halberstam book:
The Bulls' 1997-1998 press book, in words approved by Krause, said that Krause was the architect of the five titles and was responsible for the acquisition of every player on the Bulls except for Jordan. 
My bold; this to me is the exact same as Lorne Michaels not getting to claim credit for of all Saturday Night Live cast members Eddie Murphy, which must drive him a little bit insane.
