FILE UNDER “I CAN’T BELIEVE IT TOOK ME UNTIL RIGHT NOW TO THINK OF THIS BEATLES THING”
Side 2 of Beatles for Sale is interesting in that Paul VERY sneakily steals the side by writing three GREAT songs, one of which is an all-time Beatles classic (Eight Days a Week) and the other two always-curiously-overlooked Beatles gems that only sound better after years of stewing by themselves (Every Little Thing & What You're Doing) but the headline is two of these songs, Eight Days a Week & Every Little Thing, were sung by John Lennon. As far as I can think, these are the only two instances of John singing lead on a Paul song, and it’s kinda funny that over the course of almost 200 songs covering over a decade it happens on the same side of one album.
