Any time I hear an interview with a lead guitar player they always say the same thing when asked how they come up with their parts, “you know, I just always wanted to be respectful of the song and find a place I could help move it along, whatever that may be for that particular song”; just once I’d like to hear them be honest, “I never gave a fuck what the song was, I just waited for my part and wailed away like a fucking asshole until someone said stop”.
