Lose This Skin

Last week I posted HERE re: a paper I wrote in college about the Clash, and it turns out I still have the package Rolling Stone sent me, as well as the paper itself. At the time I thought the paper, which was about race in the Clash's music, was amazing. Reading it now, it reads not as if Short Bus wrote it, but if an actual bus did. ugh.

HOWEVER!

I bet I'm the only person you know who spent 4 pages documenting the racial significance of Lose This Skin, a super-slice nobody ever fucking talks about. Of course, it was written and sung by Tymon Dogg (who taught Joe Strummer how to play guitar, thank you very much, and was in Joe's band when he died), but still. Slice of super-slices.

Come with me, I thought he said
But that's not him, anymore he's dead

I downloaded a Clash show from 1978 last night. I will let you know how it is (and make copies) when I get it burnt. Then you can tell me "I already have all of this shit!" like you usually do.
