praying for rain. And this isn't some half-quack local Baptist minister testifying, this is the commander in chief of a state. Of which there are only 50. Highest power in the state and here he is, leading a prayer for rain. And I like that it's scheduled. It's not a spontaneous, passionate thing; it's on his to-do list for today. Is this to make sure God knows when to listen in? Today the governor of Georgia will close his eyes, lower his head, and speak to an unseen, unknown force about bringing some rain to Georgia. This is a man who has officially run out of ideas.

It seems strange to you but some things MUST be penciled in so everyone who will be praying with the man will be in sync. Corporate prayer, they call it. A community of believers desperate for God to shift into action on some problem seems to work better than a stray prayer here and there. Like a head full of hair is better than a couple of stragglers combed over.

Of course some might prefer to shave the head. By all means, get rid of those greased down comb overs!
My country-ass grandaddy always said that it takes water to attract water.
So if you overdevelop an area and drain wetlands to create more dry land to further overdevelop so Honky can build McMansions 30 miles from the blacks downtown you will end up praying for rain.
