My favorite college football player's name has always been Cleveland Colter, a Mack truck-hitting db from USC during the late 80s - in fact, his name was made even cooler by his fellow db Mark Carrier; there's was something cool about hearing "Mark (Aircraft) Carrier and Cleveland (Cadillac) Colter." Then about 10 years later a runner-up emerged from Notre Dame, Lake Dawson. Lil soap-operish for me but I loved the name, and today a bronze candidate has emerged, also from Notre Dame: Golden Tate! Awesome.
