A Conundrum

When you think of baseball, you think of a game sloooooooowly unfolding in wide open outdoor spaces under crushingly sweat-dripping heat. When you think of hockey, you think of a super-fast game played in indoor rinks in places so cold they include Canada, with people wearing 2 sweaters at a time to games. And yet there are twice as many NHL teams (6) as MLB teams (3) in the South. Seems strange to me.

Also, the way the South leads the country in clamoring to go back in time as far as possible, wouldn't you think they'd be the biggest fans of the oldest, "most American" sport we have? Odd.

Um, there are 5 MLB teams in the south: Astros, Braves, Marlins, Rangers, and Rays. And if you include the southwest, then it adds up to 6 w/the Diamondbacks.
