If I told you that you would play 22 seasons in the Major Leagues, over 2500 games total, and would hit almost .350, wouldn't you assume you'd have 3,000 hits?
And yet that is the mystery that is Babe Ruth...he hit .342 over a 22-year career, and yet finished with fewer than 3,000 hits. Now, I know the image of Ruth is as a fat-ass swatting dingers, but the dude hit .342 ; he wasn't MArk fucking McGuire. Seems odd he didn't reach 3,000 hits.
But then hell, neither did Ted Williams. Shit don't make sense, does it?
