Nominally, opposition to health care reform is driven by a dislike for government interference in the market or “socialism” or some such. But the demographic core of opposition is among the beneficiaries of socialism and seems driven by a sort of “I’ve got mine” attitude to the whole thing. Senior citizens don’t need to worry about going uninsured or having insurance that sounds nice but vanishes as soon as it’s needed. But they can’t be bothered to extend that help to others.
Aren't these the people that had a front-row seat to the Civil Rights Era?
