1924 – Calvin Coolidge becomes the first President of the United States to deliver a political speech on radio.

Coolidge, of course, was known as "Silent Cal." This would be like Barack Obama cutting the ribbon at the first "White Sale" at Macy's.

Must've been a helluva thrilling broadcast.
