People are always emailing me asking "Xmastime, what do you do when you're not banging out fresh, hot poon and giving us all a reason to live with your well-placed comedy bits?"
Well, sometimes I like to go to WhatIf?Sports, and put the 1981 UVa team up against the 1982 "National Champion" Carolina team, and revel in how badly Virginia woulda whupped their sorry asses (of course, this was When Virginia Hoops Mattered, aka "The Dark Ages.")
And gee, LOOKY-cooky, just look at who lit the Tar Heels up for 25. Hmm!

was that pre-three-pointer? when did that enter the ncaa?
that was pre-3. if memory serves, the ACC was one of several conferences to use the 3-pointer in the '82-'83 season (at the laughable distance of 17'9'' - for years after you could see the faded line on Duke's floor.) That's how Terry Gannon scored 8744 points that year. Then the line wasn't used again (at least not in the ACC) until it became the standard in the 1986-87 season.
