Teenage Years

According to many, many tv shows I've seen in my lifetime, the American teen sleeps late into the afternoon, walks around in his underwear and hoovers up vast amounts of food as he wishes. This is the complete antithesis of my own experience growing up, during which all I heard was

"Get the hell out of bed!"

"Put a damn shirt on."

"Get the hell outta there - what am I, running a goddam restaurant here?"
