My Yearly Plea to Get The Crew of Apollo 11 and Apollo 8 Together Before They Die

Let's Do This

Apollo 8 was the first human spaceflight mission to escape from the gravitational field of planet Earth; the first to be captured by and escape from the gravitational field of another celestial body; and the first crewed voyage to return to planet Earth from another celestial body - Earth's Moon. The three-man crew of Mission Commander Frank Borman, Command Module Pilot James Lovell, and Lunar Module Pilot William Anders became the first humans to see the far side of the Moon with their own eyes, as well as the first humans to see planet Earth from beyond low Earth orbit.

Incredibly, just like the three Apollo 11 astronauts, all three of these men are still alive. I have a feeling that this will not be the case a year from now; ergo, I am seeking an intern who will be placed in charge of getting these six men in a room together with Xmastime for a weekend-long documentary. Camon, guys. I'm what you've been waiting for!!!!

In all seriousness, they're all 80 years old - not getting these dudes in a room together asap would be a missed opportunity. I mean, it will only be a few short year(s) until we will be able to say that the first people who saw the other side of the moon, who stepped on the moon, and who saw the Earth from another celestial body are no longer among us. Seems foolish not to take advantage of the fact that they all are still (oddly so) still alive.

Of course, there's THIS GUY. But he didn't score over half of his team's points in a 3-point win over King William, did he? Hmm.
