Knee-Jerk

Sully has a lot of reaction to the Prop 8 overturn HERE, but, I must say, there's one that jumps out at me.
NEWT GINGRICH: Judge Walker's ruling overturning Prop 8 is an outrageous disrespect for our Constitution and for the majority of people of the United States who believe marriage is the union of husband and wife.
The US Constitution makes no mention of "marriage." Zero. The word is not there. Do a search, I'll wait. And yet Newt Gingrich, coming out swinging for the neocon Tea Party US Constitution experts of 2012 leads off his argument with this being a "disrespect for our Constitution." I won't even blow Newt's mind by suggesting that the overturning of Prop 8  does in fact suggest a great respect for the US Constitution; instead I will leave it to people to wonder why he brought up the Constitution in the first place. I mean, it's a real mystery.

He brought it up b/c he knows the idiots that follow him won't know he's lying and won't question his pronouncements. And the ones who do know better but share his ideology and disrespect for the average American, just sit back and let out a soft chuckle.

I am not following this story outside of the Xmastime minute-by-minute blogging, but didn't the Judge specifically cite the Constitution as the reason that the will of the people of California should be frustrated? See your headline below. Furthermore, as a civil not religious matter (cited in definition below), shouldn't it be subject to democracy where not specifically protected or forbidden in the Constitution? YORF!
