New York City.

I always forget that it was Willie Mays that hit the ball that shredded Mickey's knee in 1951 (the Giants only being in the Series, of course, because of The Shot Heard Round the World, the most famous play in MLB history). What a fucking perfect storm of America, no? Mickey, Will, Joe D.

Fuck Dimaggio.

Also, Mickey talking about playing the game the day his dad died reminded me of Paul O'Neill playnig the day his dad died, when the Yankees closed out the 1999 Series.

Hey, it's why we love the game.
