Xmastime Worries

Sometimes I worry that Scott Bakula's 34 year-old quarterback wasn't portrayed as grizzled and world-weary enough in Necessary Roughness.  Sure, he's roping steers and lighting matches with his five o'clock shadow, skeptical of everything anybody else says while limping around with the gait of a 90 year-old man who knows he gave away his future to save the family farm.  Yes, he looks and feels older than Quint in Jaws, but I feel like they really could've poured it on a little more. And that makes me sad.

Also - is Jason Bateman playing football the most out of place casting of all time? Kathy Ireland on the team, I don't blink an eye, but Bateman walks onscreen in pads and I'm like wait, what?
