McSummer Skool

John McCain is coming out saying that torture had nothing to do with getting Osama Bin Laden.  Which is confusing, since nobody can remember the last time Sir Ancient McAsshole said anything even remotely sane, much less restrained, until you remember that he himself was famously captured and tortured, and you wonder if he's worried we'll now think that he babbled away some state secrets back in 'Nam?  I'd say that's doubtful, since back then there were no reality show finales to let slip before other people saw it on the dvrs anyway, so what could he possibly have told them?

Instead of thinking of such things, I worry that as a country we're forgetting that Summer School, starring Mark Harmon (who would later be shot while protecting CJ Cregg as President Bartlet paradiddles the dimwitted James Brolin during the intermission of a performance of War of the Roses (disappointingly not the one with Danny DeVito) along with future Mrs. Xmastime Shawnee Smith and Kirstie Alley before she could affect the tides, may be one of the greatest "movies nobody knew existed when it came out but has since been watched 1,000 times by every man, woman and child in America" of all time. And that makes me sad   :(

Classic. Probably watched it 50 times during my first year of college. Also featured Courtney Thorne Smith and Fabio Udenio, a bevy of beauties for pete's sake.

Torture had nothing to do with his capture.

Enhanced interrogation techniques, however . . .
